Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine striker, Olanrewaju Kayode has expressed a relish over his return to his former base, as he has turned up with his current team for a friendly match in Vienna, Austria.
Kayode made top marks and emerged highest goals scorer of the Austrian Bundesliga during his time with Austria Wien and is relishing the opportunity to play again in the city with his Ukrainian Premier League club.
However, Kayode, who played for Wien from 2015 to 2017 and netted 37 goals in 85 appearances, said he will be relaxed is Shakhtar’s first pre-season match on Thursday against his former club.
Kayode, who joined Shakhtar on a permanent deal last month, after impressing on loan in the previous season, said he will take the game just like every other clash.
“It’s always good to be back on the pitch after the holiday. I just want to concentrate on the new season and lead the club to greater heights.
“Playing against my former club will be special but I will just feel at home and take the game as it comes,” said the ex-youth international, who had a short stay with Girona in Spain.
