Kelechi Iheanacho has warned Manchester United he has them in his sights again.
Leicester’s former Manchester City striker Iheanacho also reckons everyone at his old club will cheer him on in Friday night’s showpiece season opener at Old Trafford.
The Nigeria international scored the winner there in a 2-1 Manchester Derby triumph almost two years ago, and is determined to hit the back of the net at United’s home again after rediscovering his best form this pre-season.
Iheanacho said: “I think everyone is looking forward to that game. Coming from Man City to Leicester and playing against Man United I think the City fans are going to support us in that game.
“I scored against United in the derby so it was a good experience and I am looking forward to hopefully doing it again.”
The 21-year-old is in line to start against United ahead of England’s Jamie Vardy who is only just back from a post-World Cup holiday.
Iheanacho netted for a third successive pre-season game on Saturday, taking his tally to four goals this summer with a double in a 2-1 win away to French club Lille.
