Libya Chase PSV Winger To Wreck Super Eagles

Date:

Libya have stepped up their efforts to stop Nigeria in next month’s double-fixture against the Super Eagles, with the North African country now putting heat on PSV Eindhoven of Holland’s two-footed winger, Zakaria Aboukhlal to make a switch.

Though Aboukhlal has youth caps with Holland and has a bright future for a senior national team future with Le Oranj, footballlive.ng gathered that he is under immense pressure to switch allegiance in order to line out against Nigeria in October.

The report states further that Libya Football Federation (LFF) want to invite Aboukhlal for their back-to-back clashes with Nigeria in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Libya lead Group E of the AFCON qualifiers with four points, one more than the Eagles, who host the first leg in Kaduna on October 12, before travelling for the away tie in Tunisia on October 14.

Ahead of both games, LFF president, Jamal Al-Jaafari will hold a meeting with Aboukhlal’s father to discuss the possibility of the player joining The Knights’ camp.

Al-Jaafari said the LFF will take all necessary measures for Aboukhlal to be capped by Libya, as he is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in Dutch football.

Aboukhlal joined PSV from Willem II Tilborg on a three-year deal in the summer of 2017 and the 18-year-old is inching closer to a first team debut, after 34 appearances for their youth teams.
