Lobi Stars of Makurdi defender Gabriel Adikwu has revealed that players of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions all resumed earlier in the week as there is no time to merry around because of the enormous task ahead of them beginning from next month.
The Pride of Benue will attempt to defend the NPFL title they won last season and also kick start their campaign in the CAF Champions League.
“We have resumed for the 2018/19 season which will be long and tasky,” Gabriel Adikwu enthused to Footballlive.ng.
“We believe that there is no time to continue merriment after winning the league title last season.”
“Lobi Stars will be involved in the CAF Champions League and the also try to defend the league title. We really want to perform very well in these competitions. That’s the reason for the early resumption.”
Adikwu added that having these challenges at the back of their mind they have all decided to return back to camp in other to do well in all the competitions they will be involved in the coming season.
