On the eve of Nigeria’s friendly against Liberia, Enyimba FC captain Mfon Udoh hinted to footballlive.ng he was near the exit at the club over irreconcilable issues with the management, four days later the Striker announced he had quit the team.
Udoh, who returned after an injury lay off to help Enyimba reach the quarter-final of the CAF Confederation Cup, declined extending his contract with the club.
The player said his contract expired at the end of last season and he wants a new challenge per Kola Daniel [SCORENigeria].
“My contract with Enyimba ended when the league ended and Lobi Stars were announced as champions.
“I am a free player and already offers have started coming in.
“I now need to take a new challenge.”
On Sunday Enyimba will play the first-leg of their quarter-final tie against Rayon Sports.
