Moffi Brace Ends Winless Run for OGC Nice

Date:

In an exhilarating clash at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, Nice emerged victorious with a resounding 3-1 triumph over Lens, marking a significant milestone for the visiting side. Nice showcased their attacking prowess and resilience, securing their first win in seven games in style.

The match burst into life in the 11th minute when Terem Moffi broke the deadlock for Nice, capitalizing on a precise assist from Mohammed-Ali Cho to give his side an early lead and set the tone for the encounter.

Lens fought valiantly to find an equalizer and appeared to have succeeded in the 53rd minute when Elye Wahi found the back of the net. However, their celebrations were short-lived as the goal was disallowed, denying Lens the opportunity to draw level.

Nice capitalized on Lens’ disappointment and extended their lead in the same minute, with Khepren Thuram finding the back of the net with a well-taken effort, once again assisted by the influential Mohamed-Ali Cho, doubling Nice’s advantage and putting them firmly in control of the proceedings.

As the game progressed, Nice continued to assert their dominance, with Terem Moffi converting from the penalty spot in the 67th minute to further extend Nice’s lead to 3-0, leaving Lens with an uphill battle to salvage anything from the match.

Lens managed to pull one back in the 76th minute when Elye Wahi found the back of the net, this time assisted by Wesley Said, providing a glimmer of hope for the home side.

However, Nice held firm in the closing stages of the game, thwarting Lens’ attempts at a comeback and ultimately securing a crucial victory, ending their winless streak in impressive fashion. With this important triumph, Nice will look to build momentum and climb up the league standings, they currently sit 5th with 43 points from 26 games played.
