Leicester City attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho is happy with the progressive welfare packages and advanced payments handed Super Eagles’ players by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and believes it will spur the lads to give their very best at the World Cup.
Iheanacho said he is personally motivated by the NFF’s rare gestures of making the players happy, and believes his teammates will also be spurred by it all to rise to the occasion when the chips come down in Russia.
The former Manchester City youngster said it is imperative for national team players to be fully motivated monetarily such that he and the entire Eagles’ stars are appreciative for what they have received ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
All this comes after the NFF signed a landmark agreement with the players, with regard to World Cup funds, in November last year, and the Iheanacho is happy with the promises kept.
He heaved praise on the process in which the NFF credit the players’ accounts without delay, and so much has been paid already, more than two weeks before their first match of Russia 2018 on June 16, against Croatia in Kaliningrad.
Iheanacho declared: “The most important thing about the World Cup is not the money.
“I must admit that the fact that the money is there and we know is there gives us extra energy, extra motivation in the preparations.”
