Nigeria, South Africa to face off in AWCON final

Date:

Nigeria and South Africa will clash in the final of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, reports Footballlive.ng.

The two rivals will face off in the competition for the second time, with Banyana Banyana winning 1-0 in the group stage.
The Super Falcons made the final of the competition after overcoming Cameroon 4-2 on penalties, with goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi the heroine.
The feat also guaranteed that Nigeria will maintain her record of appearing at every edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, when the world’s best teams gather in France next year summer.
The reward for Thomas Dennerby’s side is a tie against the mobile South African side who dispatched Mali 2-0 in the other semi final match in Cape Coast.
