Nigerian Players Scorecard: Ola Aina opens goal account in Italy, Ekong, Iheanacho, Ndidi on losing end, Omeruo booked in Leganes win

Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi was in action for Leicester City in the English Premier League as they lost 3 – 1 to high flying Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at the Wembley stadium. Despite playing all 90 minutes of the encounter, Ndidi could do nothing about his team’s loss to the Spurs. Ndidi’s national teammate Kelechi Iheanacho was a second-half substitute as he was brought on for Rachid Ghezzal in the 72nd minute.

 

 

Iheanacho has only managed to score once for the Foxes in the 2018/2019 league season providing five assists while Ndidi has scored twice so far this season while midfielder Ndidi has scored twice.

 

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina was on the score sheet in the Italian Serie A as Torino beat Udinese 1 – 0 on Sunday. Aina scored the goal in the 31st minute which is his first Serie A goal since joining Torino from London giants Chelsea. Aina played all 90 minutes of the encounter.

Nigerian International Williams Troost Ekong was on the receiving end of Ola Aina’s goal as his team Udinese lost to Torino by a lone goal. The Nigerian international was cautioned for a bookable offense in the 86th minute of the encounter. Troost Ekong was in action for all 90 minutes.

Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru was in action for Galatasaray in its 3 – 1 home win over Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig. The Nigerian was in action for all 90 minutes. Meanwhile Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme was in action for Trabzonspor in the loss to Onyekuru’s team. Nwakaeme provided the assist for Hugo Rodallega to score the team’s only goal of the match.

Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo was in action for Leganes as they defeated Real Betis 3 – 0 in a Liga fixture on Sunday. The Nigerian superstar was yellow carded in the 53rd minute of the encounter.

Nigerian midfielder Obiora Nwankwo was a minutes substitute for Boavista in their one-nil win over Santa Clara in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on Sunday. The Nigerian international came on for Alberto Bueno in the 88th minute of the match to solidify the team’s midfield.
