NPFL: Efforts deserved a point – Adeleke Adekunle

Date:

Adeleke Adekunle thought his Go Round side deserved at least a draw against Plateau United on Sunday in the top fight.

Go Round lost 1-0 to the Peace Boys yesterday afternoon in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week eight courtesy of Jesse Akile’s 77th minute strike, but Adeleke Adekunle believed his team’s efforts was worthy of a point.

“For the effort we put in at least we should taken something,” he told Footballlive.ng. “We missed the draw that I think we deserved.

“During the game we had the feeling that there might be a possibility of picking at least a point.

“We played a great game though. In all aspects of the game we worked hard. We know this season’s going to be hard, but we have a team that is growing and getting better all the time.”

“We were in control of the match in the first half. The only time we struggled was when we lost the ball at some stage in the second half. It just wasn’t to be though,” he concluded.
