Youth Nigerian defender, Nura Abdullahi has declared that he is still a player of Italian Serie A side, AS Roma, despite being away from the side for six months.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Roma opted to keep Abdullahi under strict health tabs, following complications spotted during medicals at Perugia, but the youngster insists he is still in the Rome-based club’s plans.
Abdulahhi signed a five-year deal at Roma last summer, before heading on loan to Perugia in the second division, but checks revealed a heart ailment and put an to the deal.
It was recalled that the same issue earlier required minor surgery some years ago and cost him move to Barcelona, such that the Serie A side were said to be scared of keeping the 20-year-old defender.
However, Abdullahi insists he is still with Roma, but admits the club officially granted him leave of absence to properly check his health.
Abdullahi expatiated: “I was allowed to rest for six months; but I’m back now. My next career move will be made public soon.”
