Off the block! Iwobi and Arsenal record first PL win under Emery

Date:

Alex Iwobi was handed 45 minutes in Arsenal’s first premier league wi under new Boss Unai Emery on Saturday against city rivals, West Ham at the Emirates.

Arsenal chased the game in the opening minutes as the visitors took the lead with a 25minute goal by captain Marco Arnautovic.

The Gunners didn’t allow it cool before they struck back, netting the equalizer five minutes later through Nacho Monreal and Iwobi was involved.

Both sides went into the break on level pegging, but it was Arsenal that came out fresher and with more purpose.

The sides had gone 180 matches without a point, and Emery had called for the first of three allotted substitution, withdrawing Iwobi.

Arsenal went on a rampage and got a second goal, albeit fortuitously, from an Issa Diop own goal before substitute Danny Welbeck made it three.
