Date:

West Ham United defender, Angelo Obinze Ogbonna could take after Sunday Stephen (Sunny) as the next player of Nigerian descent to play for Valencia of Spain.

Footballlive.ng gathered that memories of Sunny’s days with Los Che could be replicated by Ogbonna, as the Italian international is being courted by the once high-flying La Liga outfit.

Details of the report out of The Land of The Armada indicate that Ogbonna has emerged as a target for Valencia, though his contract with The Hammers is billed to run on through till 2022.

Despite his contract restrictions, Valencia have already opened talks to sign Ogbonna, as they are going through a tough season, currently 14th in La Liga, and want reinforcements.
The 30-year-old stopper has only three Premier League starts this term, along with three League Cup appearances, but his CV includes past stints wioth Torino and Juventus in the Italian Serie A.
