AS Torino of Italy defender, Ola Aina is taking an injury back to his base with the Serie A club, following a knock he copped on international duty.
Although no official statement has been made about Aina’s situation, footballllive.ng gathered that the knock kept him out of Nigeria’s line up against South Africa on Saturday.
The explanation to Aina’s absence at that time had been the late decision by Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr to switch formations to 3-5-2, but feelers from the camp indicate that the defender, on loan from Chelsea of England, had been tipped to play as the right-wing-back.
Rohr eventually settled for the attack-conscious Samuel Kalu to play that role, but observers noted it accounted for an imbalance in the formation.
First, Kalu spent much time up front at the detriment of defensive work, which left Leon Aderemi Balogun exposed at the rear and John Ugochukwu Ogu had to eventually sit deep to avoid further lapses.
