AS Torino of Italy defender, Ola Aina has admitted he was thrilled to score his first goal in Serie A this past weekend, but insists it was all down to team work in the squad.
Aina’s 31st minute header at Stadio Olimpico Grande was enough for the home side to snatch all three points, with the dark-skinned versatile defender on as a right-wing-back for 90 minutes, till he was replaced by Lorenzo De Silvestri in added time, as a delay tactic by the hosts’ coach.
While acknowledging how proud he felt helping Torino snatch victory on Sunday, the right-back, who is on loan from Chelsea of England, said he must give credit to his teammates for their contributions to the goal.
Aina also noted that The Marron made the best of the game in front of their teeming fans to beat Udinese, who had Nigerian defender, William Troost-Ekong and Italy striker, Stefano Chuka Okaka on for the duration.
The lad from Chelsea added that he was glad to link with Troost-Ekong after the encounter, but stressed that the biggest fall-out from the game was that getting all three points meant so much to his Turin-based side.
Aina stated on social media: “1st Goal 3 Points! Team effort to secure the win. Good linking up with the bro @WTroostEkong. #MrLulu.”
