AS Torino of Italy defender, Ola Aina has spoken on observations that he is yet to get a clearly defined role with the club he joined this summer, as he says it is simply because the Turin-based side are still looking for the right mechanism.
Aina played at right-back on Friday, despite having been deployed as a left-back in previous games and, though his side still went on to beat Frosinone 3-2, footballlive.ng learnt that his club fans were not satisfied with their team’s performance.
Aina, who is on loan from Chelsea of England, however, sued for more patience from Torino’s supporters, as he reasoned that it will take some time for the squad to gel in the new season, as they are still undergoing a rebuilding process.
Aina was deployed as a right wing-back against Frosinone for the fourth time this season in his eighth appearance in the Serie A.
The Super Eagles defender, who had been involved in the buildup to Torino’s second goal scored by Daniele Baselli, was replaced in 65th minute, shortly after his side conceded a second goal.
Nonetheless, Aina’s team won their second game in a row, all thanks to Álex Berenguer’s 71st minute winner Stadio Olimpico Grande, and the dark-skinned full-back says it is the beginning of better things to come.
Aina expatiated: ”I do not think it’s a problem, I think it depends on the fact that we are a team that is looking for an identity and it takes more time, when you start a match, find the right mechanisms.”
