Ooni of Ife receives Buruj players and officials on trophy tour to celebrate Olojo Festival!

The patron of Buruj Sports Academy,Ooni Of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ojaja II, played host to the players and officials of Buruj Sports Academy as part of activities to celebrate this year’s Olojo festival on Sunday where they presented the double titles they won during the 2018 edition of English Super Cup held in Manchester, the United Kingdom.

The highly elated Oba Ogunwusi who also received and blessed the players and officials of the academy while in London during the 2017 edition of the same competition was full of plaudits for the management of the Ikorodu-based academy led by the CEO Salaudeen Waheed.

He promised to continue to support Nigerian youths with everything at his disposal so that they can fulfill their potential in all fields of endeavours and challenged the young players to continue to take their training and career development very seriously because they can never say how far they can go in the round leather game.

The Buruj contingent visit to Oba Ogunwusi is part of the trophy tour that has been packaged by the management of the academy to celebrate their triumph in England and they are expected to be guests of other distinguished personalities in the coming days.

The Olojo festival presented a veritable avenue to showcase the rich culture of Ile-Ife and the Yoruba nation.

The event proper was held on Saturday, with the Ooni wearing the “Aare crown” a day after leaving seclusion to Oke-Mogun in Ile-Ife.

The monarch used the occasion to offer prayers for citizens, Ife Kingdom, state and entire Nigeria. Thousands of people and Yoruba race from various communities in Nigeria and Diaspora stormed Ile-Ife to celebrate the festival with the Yoruba paramount ruler.
