Rivers United forward Bernard Ovoke maintains that the Pride of Rivers are still within a chance in their quest to win the Aiteo Cup title, reports Footballlive.ng.
The Pride of Rivers were edged in a five-goal thriller by Kano Pillars in their first group match on Monday.
Despite the loss, Ovoke believes that it’s not all lost as they look to bounce back in the game against Kwara United today.
He told Footballlive.ng that the real battle has just started and that they have to keep on fighting until the end.
“It’s not over yet. We have to show character and keep on fighting. We won’t depend on other teams to do our work. We will have to go out there and play our game and make sure we collect six points as we can in the remaining group games.
“The real battle starts now and we have to fight,” the former Bayelsa United forward observed to Footballlive.ng.
