Nigerian national team coach, Jose Peseiro has defended Zaidu Sanusi, following public criticism of the left back.
The coach stated that the system being deployed takes it toll on the wingbacks. He said, they have have to run back and forth at every passage of play to join up in attack and defence.
The coach rued the full back’s missed chance and said it’s understandable that they are not ‘fresh’ at every instance.
The gaffer said he believes Zaidu has improved in their most recent games and is happy with his performances.
Peseiro rounded up by showering praise all over the entire squad saying he appreciates their efforts and thanked them for their belief in his model and system.
