As the debate over the retirement of Victor Moses from international football continues, former Minister of Youth and Sports, Engineer Bala Kaoje has declared that the winger’s decision should be respected.
The Chelsea winger retired from international duties after the 2018 World Cup preferring to concentrate on club duties with the Blues.
“I have read several opinions on Social Media as regards Victor Moses’ retirement from national team duties,” Kaoje said in am interview with Footballlive.ng.
“The young man should be left alone to focus on his club and family.”
“He is matured man and understand the reasons he took the decision at the age of 27 with his career still blossoming.
“I think his decision should be respected and taken in good faith.
According to the administrator, Nigerians should support him in retirement.
“Nigerians should continue to support him in retirement. That’s the best way to make him happy and feel wanted. There is no point putting him under undue pressure.”
Kaoje added that the idea to beg him to come back to the national team after making the decision is wrong but should be a lesson to the nation to always “make hay when sun shine”.
