Rivers United Captain Nyima Nwagua Expresses Confidence in CAF Confederation Cup Victory

Following Rivers United’s successful qualification for the quarter-final stage of the CAF Confederation Cup, team captain Nyima Nwagua is optimistic about the squad’s ability to clinch the coveted title.

The Pride of Rivers secured their spot in the knockout stage with a 2-1 victory over Dream FC of Ghana, finishing second in Group C with 10 points.

Nwagua, reflecting on the team’s journey, emphasized their hard work and determination, stating, “We have worked hard to get to this point, we will not look down on ourselves.” Confident in their capabilities, he added, “We have everything to win the cup.” The draw for the quarter-final is scheduled for March 12, 2024.
