Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has disclosed that he will surely monitor the progress of Girondins-Bordeaux of France summer signing, Samuel Kalu this season in the French Ligue 1.
Rohr said he had been aware of Kalu’s exploits at KAA Gent of Belgium all along, but says he did not invitee the youngster simply because there were other equally good players in his role for the Eagles, but he now has a chance tom play himself into the team.
Rohr said he rates Kalu’s former teammate at KAA Gent of Belgium, Moses Simon, but that could now change in the unfolding season.
This comes against the backdrop of reports that Kalu has been handed the prestigious number 10 jersey at Bordeaux, after completing a big-money move from Gent.
Rohr said: “He is in my group since the beginning, two years ago. I saw him play, but in his team, I took another, which is Simon Moses.
“He is also a winger, fast. He’s almost the same, but I found Simon better than Kalu. We have many fast wingers in Nigeria.
“Before there is a plethora of attackers, quality. This boy could not yet join our team. But now we’ll monitor him.”
