The Super Eagles should be able to snatch a 4-0 win against Libya in Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, if the words of the Nigerian team’s technical adviser, Gernot Rohr are anything to go by.
This is sequel to a declaration by the Franco-German gaffer that he wants to see his players pull off a similar feat with what they did against Cameroon at same venue during the World Cup qualifiers.
During the match in memory, footballlive.ng recalls that the Eagles shocked the African champions with a mammoth win-margin, after which they went on to pull off a stimulating 1-1 draw in the return leg away, and Rohr believes they are capable of doing same against Libya.
Nigerian soccer fans will now be filled with extra motivation heading into Saturday’s first leg in Uyo and the reverse fixture on Tuesday in Sfax, Tunisia, as Rohr says his players know what is at stake.
Rohr backed his players to achieve maximum points from the matches in Uyo and Sfax, as he believes they all want to make it to AFCON 2019 in Cameroon.
He stressed: “We know how the game against Libya is important to all of us. The players want to be in the Nations Cup next year.
“We did not go to the last two editions; so, they will all be motivated to get the needed result.
“I believe we can get the maximum points from this game and boost our chances of qualifiers.
