Sanusi: Falcons Provided Yardstick For Sports Seminar

Date:

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) general-secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi has disclosed that the female national team, Super Falcons became the centre of focus for egg heads who gathered in Abuja.

While commending the team for winning the 11th African Women Cup of Nations in Ghana last weekend, Sanusi said the team was the focus at a seminar to preview the 19th National Sports Festival.

With the festival billed to begin this Thursday in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Sanusi said the Falcons provided the right yeardstick for all athletes to aim at and aspire to achieve similar feats.

The NFF scribe said the seminar on Monday in Abuja provided the right avenue for the speakers to show what it means to be a winner in any top level of football or sports in general.

In response, the Falcons’ captains, Rita Chikwelu and Onome Ebi said they were happy for the visit by NFF president, Melvin Amaju Pinnick, head of women football, Ruth David and Sanusi.

They pledged that the team will give their best at next year’s FIFA Women World Cup in France, ahead of which Sanusi promised that the NFF will give the team adequate preparation.

Sanusi declared: “Honestly, I was very happy on Saturday. I am proud of what you have done.

“You know, at the preview of the National Sports Festival, all resource persons focused on you, the Super Falcons.”
