Rotherham United of England defender, Semi Ajayi has rated Nigerian soccer fans very high, which makes him admit it is an honour for him to play for the Super Eagles.
The former Arsenal youth team player took his mind back to Tuesday’s friendly against Uganda at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, which was his first game on Nigerian soil, and noted that the support was amazing.
After featuring for the entire duration of Tuesday’s goalless draw in the Delta State capital, the 25-year-old defender said he is proud to star in Nigeria’s green-and-white colours in front of the home fans.
The tall youngster will now return to action with Rotherham United in the English lower division, with high hopes of seeing his recent exposure rub off on his club, who are currently 16th in the English Championship.
He will return with high spirits and extra zeal to lift Rotherham high, as they confront Sheffield United on Saturday.
Ajayi posted: “Always an honour to represent my country. Grateful for the opportunity to make my home debut in front of the Nigerian fans, the support was amazing! #SuperEagles #Naija.”
