Super Eagles Mourns Loss of Supporters in Tragic AFCON Semi-Final

The Super Eagles express their heartfelt condolences over the tragic demise of some fans during the AFCON 2023 semi-final clash against Bafana Bafana.

At least five Nigerian supporters lost their lives, including notable figures such as APC chieftain Cairo Ojougboh, corps member Samuel serving in Adamawa State, Kwara State University Deputy Bursar Ayuba Abdullahi, Ogun State’s Mikail Osundiji, and businessman Osondu Nwoye.

The Super Eagles, in a tweet late last night, extended prayers for the departed souls and acknowledged the fans’ unwavering passion for football. May they rest in eternal peace, forever remembered for their love of the beautiful game and the unity it fosters.”
