Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been drawn in group B of the forthcoming second edition of the West African Football Union (WAFU B) Women’s Cup of Nations In May 2019.
Nigeria will slug it out with Ghana, Guinea, and Mali in group B while Cote’d ‘Ivoire will face Benin, Niger, and Senegal in group A
Cote d’Ivoire has been announced as host of the tournament scheduled to be played in May in Abidjan. Ghana’s Black Queens were crowned champions of the first edition in 2018 where they defeated Cote d’Ivoire by a lone goal in the final.
The WAFU B AWCON will serve as a preparatory tournament for the Super Falcons who will be at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and will play host France, Norway and South Korea in group A of the tournament.
