Terem Moffi Turns Parc Des Princes To His Playground, Blows Out Mbappe In 5-Goal French Night Thriller

Date:

Terem Moffi delivered a standout performance for OGC Nice as they secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain on Friday night.

Moffi, who was not called up for the last international window, was fresh and led the Nice attack to success.

PSG initially dominated the game, but they struggled to break down a solid Nice defense.

Les Aiglons employed a high press strategy to disrupt PSG’s build-up play, which paid off in the 21st minute as they were more direct in their attack.

Nice capitalized on a PSG mistake in their own area, and Moffi took advantage, sending a shot that deflected into the net to make it 1-0.

PSG’s star forward Kylian Mbappe equalized for the champions in the 29th minute. The score remained level until halftime, but the second half brought more action.

Despite the home team enjoying the Lion share of possession, Moffi demonstrated the merits of classic counter attacking play when he sprinted past Danilo Pereira to seize Morgan Sanson’s forward pass, dribbled into open space, and then delivered an assist for Gatan Laborde to score.

Moffi stunned the Parc des Princes once more as he played a one-two with Laborde to burst through again, squared up Milan Kriniar, and sent a precise effort beyond Gianluigi Donnarumma’s reach.

In the 87th minute, Mbappé added a fantastic second of his own with an acrobatic shot after a dinked cross from Randal Kolo Muani, but, Nice held on to maintain their unblemished start to the season and secure back-to-back wins.

Along with causing Les Parisiens to suffer their first loss of the season, Nice also moved ahead of PSG and into second place.
