Uche Agbo Targets Bright Belgian Season Kick-off

Date:

Standard Liege of Belgium utility player, Uche Agbo is targeting a bright start to the regular season in the Jupiler League, following his side’s slump in the Super Cup at the weekend.

Agbo, who can play as a central defender or holding midfielder, was on from start to finish in the clash against Cercle Brugge, but could not save his side from going down in defeat.

Agbo and the Belgian Cup holders eventually lost the game 2-1, as Club Brugge snatched their 15th Super Cup triumph.

Brugge, who were without Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis, after he suffered an ankle injury in a pre-season game last week, got on top in the first half and deserved their goals.

Though Liege made the contest a lot more interesting when they pulled a goal back after the interval, they could not muster enough to turn the table in their favour.

Nonetheless, Agbo, who is on loan from Granada of Spain, says he has put the loss behind him and has turned his attention fully on Friday’s start of the new season in Belgium.
