Chelsea of England winger, Victory Moses marked his 28th birthday with another injury, as footballlive.ng learnt that the former Super Eagles star had to be excused from training all through this week due to a knock.
The development accounted for another absence for Moses from The Blues’ squad for their Europa League last group clash away to Vidi of Hungary, which coincided with his birthday and could have been an opportunity for him to get a special gift with the London-based team.
Although Moses has not enjoyed a look-in with Chelsea’s matchday squads since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri as gaffer, the Italian tactician was reportedly ready to give him some time in the dead rubber match, only to change his mind due to the player’s fitness issue.
It was gathered further that Moses was omitted from the Chelsea squad that traveled to Hungary on Wednesday afternoon, as Sarri excused him from the team’s training at Cobham due to an undisclosed injury.
Moses, who celebrated his 28th birthday on Friday, has been out of favour since the former Napoli coach took over from Antonio Conte in July 2018, and a departure from Stamford Bridge is in the offing for him.
Moses has already been linked with the club that shot him to limelight, Crystal Palace and fellow-London-based strugglers, Fulham, amidst growing speculation that he will leave Chelsea in January.
He has made two appearances for The Blues in this season’s Europa League, after coming off the bench in the home wins against Vidi and BATE Borisov, but missed out of a chance for a final show in the race.
