Napoli and Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen was seen celebrating his recent achievement as CAF Player of the Year on the streets of Lagos at his alma mater, Olusosun Primary School in Oregun.
This public appearance follows his controversy from an Instagram rant directed at Super Eagles manager, Finidi George.
Victor Osimhen, who led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years by scoring 26 goals in 32 appearances, was awarded the CAF Player of the Year for 2023, edging out strong contenders Achraf Hakimi and Mohamed Salah to claim the title.
He became the first Nigerian player in 22 years to receive the African Footballer of the Year award, and the first Super Eagles player in nine years to make it to the podium since Vincent Enyeama in 2014.
During the off-season, Osimhen took the opportunity to revisit his roots. He returned to Olusosun Primary School to present his CAF POTY award, much to the delight of his former schoolmates and local fans.
