Why the Victor Osimhen to Bayern Munich Transfer Crashed

Date:

Victor Osimhen’s fairy tale season with Napoli has seen him linked to a host of top clubs, all of whom have shown interest in the Forward as a possible transfer target this summer.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and most recently Bayern Munich were the front runners for Osimhen’s signature.

However the Bayern Munich move seem to have hit a brick wall, as reports now indicate that The Bavarians may end their pursuit of the Nigerian, as they deem Napoli’s €150 million valuation will price them out of contention for the player.

In recent weeks, Reports in Germany had indicated that Osimhen fancied a move to the Bundesliga Champions.

He started his European sojourn in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg, it was also pointed out that his German girlfriend was pushing for the move as she wants their daughter to grow up in Germany close to her family.

But Bayern Munich are not known to be big spenders; but they had broken the bank for Lucas Hernandez in a €80 million deal from Atletico Madrid back in the 2019/20 season.

Corentin Tolisso was their biggest signing signing prior. The French-Togolese Central Midfielder had joined from Olympique Lyon for €41.50 million in the 2017/18 season.

Hence, the club is looking at other options, refusing to spend so much on a single player.

They are considering options and in multiple positions that could round up to the €150 million transfer chest.
