Sunday Oliseh Eyes Super Eagles Return

Date:

In the wake of Jose Peseiro’s contract expiration as Super Eagles manager, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) is actively seeking his replacement.

Among those eyeing the position is former coach, Sunday Oliseh, who recently announced his desire to return.

Oliseh, who previously managed the national team from July 2015 to February 2016, revealed his willingness to take on the role once again.

During his previous tenure, the former midfielder had a tumultuous relationship with the NFF.

The 49-year-old’s tenure was marked by controversies, including clashes with key players Vincent Enyeama and John Mikel Obi, ultimately resulting in his abrupt departure from the position.

In response to inquiries about his interest in coaching the Super Eagles again, Oliseh neither confirmed nor denied having applied for the position, but says he’ll consider taking up the role.

“Right now, what I can say is that I am going to put my wildcard on this question,” he told Channels TV.

“As I have also often said, if Nigeria needs my services, I will always help my country if the right conditions are met.”
