Aiteo Cup: Pillars, Rangers, Ibom Angels through to the final

To book passage to the final Kano Pillars defeated northern neighbors Katsina 4 – 1 on penalties after the match ended 2 – 2 in regulation time at the Agege stadium in Lagos while Gbenga Ogunbote led Rangers International came from two goals down to pip Nasarawa United 4 -2 in the second semi final match played in Kano.

In the women’s category, Ibom Angels defeated Edo Queens 2 – 0 in the first semi final game in Owerri to book a spot in the final where they will square up against either Rivers Angels or Bayelsa Queens in the second Semi final match to be decided on Friday October 12 in Enugu.

Forward Eunice Essien got a first half brace for Akwa Ibom based team in the 15th and 26th minutes of the game.

The Aiteo Cup men’s final is billed to take place in Asaba on Wednesday 24th October while the women’s final will be played on Tuesday 23rd of October at the Samson Siasia stadium Yenagoa
