Nigerian striker Chikelu Francis Ofoedu’s 32nd minute goal was enough to ensure that Maccabi Tel Aviv remained unbeaten in 18 league games as they played out a one all draw against Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League on Monday night.
Ofoedu opened the scoring for the away side in the 32nd minute of the encounter but were pegged back in the 88th minute when Emmanuel Boateng equalized for the home side to share the spoils in the thrilling match.
With the draw, Maccabi Tel Aviv’s unbeaten run in the league continues with a total of 14 wins, four draws and no losses so far after 18 games topping the table and 16 points clear of second placed Bnei Yehuda.
The former Enugu Rangers forward joined the Israeli side from Turkish outfit Eskisehirspor in 2018 where he scored 19 goals in 58 games.
