Coach Olugbenga Ogunbote Praised Team For Playing To Remain In Kano

Rangers International Technical Adviser, Coach Ogunbote while speaking to journalists after his team’s draw against Sunshine Stars FC in the final AITEO Cup group stage match has praised his charges for securing passage to the quarterfinal of the 2018 AITEO Cup.

He told journalists, “It was a tough game but in truth we never expected an easy game knowing fully well both teams had something to fight for.”

Rangers International who had qualified before the game knew that only a minimum of one point would guarantee a top place finish and ensure the team remained in Kano for the quarterfinals and the team’s Gaffer was delighted that his players delivered the necessary result.

Praising the quality of the group opponents and his team’s mental strength, Coach Ogunbote said, “Every game was difficult here but this particular game was a test of our character and mental strength largely due to the psychological effect of the last result on the team.”

Coach Ogunbote who said preparation for the AITEO Cup group stage quarterfinals had started concluded by saying he and his charges would continue to take it one game at a time.
