Enyimba’s technical adviser, Finidi George, has shared his thoughts on the team’s recent 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars, describing the match as difficult but acknowledging the resilience of his players.
The People’s Elephant managed to secure a point at the Ondo State sports complex in Akure after coming from behind. Promise Awosanmi put Sunshine Stars in the lead in the 46th minute, only for Enyimba’s Chidiebere Nnachi to equalise 11 minutes later.
Speaking to the club’s media, Finidi George said, “The game against Sunshine Stars was a difficult one. The game was equal and I think the draw was a good one. Both teams wanted to win without a lot of chances, but I think the result was a good one for both teams.”
Acknowledging the challenges faced during the match, George added, “We will build on the result going forward in the league.”
With this result, Enyimba maintain their strong position in the league, currently occupying second place with 52 points from 31 games. The team will be looking to capitalize on this performance as they hope to defend their crown.
