Despite avoiding defeat in the AITEO Cup group stage, Sunshine Stars inability to turn draws to victory meant that they were knocked out of the 2018 AITEO Cup on Friday as El-Kanemi Warriors secured a win against Supreme Court FC.
Interim Sunshine Stars Technical Adviser, Coach Henry Abiodun speaking to pressmen immediately after the final group stage match, “It was a good game although we are disappointed at not being able to qualify for the quarterfinals of the competition.”
He went on to congratulate Rangers International and El-Kanemi Warriors in the spirit of sportsmanship wishing them all the best as both teams remain with a chance of winning the AITEO Cup.
In concluding Coach Abiodun said, “For now our season officially has come to an end. Management would to roll out plans for next season but I hope we retain some of our key players which would important for us next season.”
