Victor Boniface Faces One-Match Ban and Fine for Bad Conduct

Date:

Victor Boniface has been banned for one DFB-Pokal match and fined €25,000 by the German Football Association for unsporting conduct.

The Super Eagles forward allegedly made a gesture with his middle finger towards VfB Stuttgart players during Bayer Leverkusen’s celebrations after their penalty shootout win in the DFL-Supercup final.

Bayer Leverkusen and Victor Boniface has accepted the punishment.

Initially, there was no clear evidence of the incident, but television footage later confirmed the action.

Leverkusen’s sporting CEO, Simon Rolfes, commented, “There was a lot of emotion, but something like this is unnecessary. Boni has to let it go.”
