Iwobi Gives Credit To Ozil For Arsenal Thrills

Date:

Arsenal attacker, Alex Iwobi has pointed the finger at his teammate, Mesut Ozil as the one to credit for the amazing burst of form he is now enjoying with The Gunners, footballlive.ng reports.

After putting up another superlative performance in Monday’s stunning come-from-behind 3-1 spanking of Leicester City at Emirates Stadium, many pundits are showering accolades on Iwobi, but the Super Eagles star says all credit should got to Ozil.

Iwobi added that the German midfield is a world class player, who he says having the privilege of playing alongside at the London club has helped him develop into a key man in Arsenal’s side.

Iwobi has now started five of the last seven games, as he shows vast improvements from last season, something he believes has been partly down to the influence of Ozil.

The 22-year-old Iwobi said: “I get the privilege to play with him every day. I have been training with him since I was 17 and I have seen what he can do.

“The quality he has is not just in training but as you can see in the match, he is a world-class player and he proved that again.
“He gives me advice in a different way. He jokes around but always tells me I can do more, he was saying I can do more, he is always one of those guys.

“But he is always happy, always telling me and giving me the confidence to express myself so it helps me.
“Mesut will come across as laid back but he is helping everyone in a different way and he helps me a lot.”
